The Core Storyline 

Karuppu is a high-octane, visually spectacular Tamil action-fantasy thriller that marks a massive, powerful collaboration between superstar Suriya and multi-talented actor-director RJ Balaji. Rooted deeply in local folklore, rural spirituality, and systemic corruption, the film presents an intense, modern-day tale of divine justice.

The story is set in a struggling, oppressed village where the local population is being ruthlessly exploited by a powerful, greedy political syndicate. After the corrupt legal system completely fails the helpless villagers, the ancient, wrathful local deity Karuppur Swamy takes human form (played with an electrifying, commanding screen presence by Suriya) to unleash divine destruction upon the perpetrators of injustice.
