The Core Storyline 

The cosmic, world-weary side of the newly established DC Universe takes flight in spectacular fashion with Supergirl (adapted from the celebrated Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic series). The narrative shifts away from Earth to the harsh, lawless frontiers of the cosmos, focusing on Kara Zor-El (played with brilliant, feral intensity by breakout star Milly Alcock). Unlike Superman, who was raised in a loving Kansas home, Kara spent the first fourteen years of her life on a drifting, toxic fragment of their destroyed homeworld, watching everyone she loved slowly perish. Now an exhausted, cynical young adult struggling to find her purpose in the universe, her aimless wandering permanently fractures when she is approached by Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), a fiercely determined alien girl from a ruined planet. Ruthye is on an absolute mission of vengeance, seeking to track down and execute Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts), a ruthless, cold-blooded mercenary who brutally murdered her father.
