The Core Storyline
A delightfully whimsical, highly imaginative, and groundbreaking musical fantasy takes center stage in Sing Geetham. Directed and written by the legendary 94-year-old veteran filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao as his monumental 61st directorial venture, and produced with immense creative conviction by Nag Ashwin under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies, this unique cinematic fable makes a spectacular global digital splash. Intentionally trading the aggressive, action-heavy trends of contemporary pan-Indian cinema for an enchanting, childlike wonderment, the 2-hour-20-minute film arrives on Netflix complete with a pristine, high-fidelity Hindi dubbed multi-audio track, offering a truly refreshing and innovative theatrical experiment where ordinary spoken dialogue dissolves entirely into brilliant melody and song.
The allegorical narrative is set in the fictional, remote village of Kuberapuram, a region that has been left completely barren and ecologically devastated after years of unchecked, aggressive gold mining. Driven entirely by modern corporate greed, the locals have stripped away almost every ounce of greenery, leaving behind exactly one single, sacred, and ancient last-surviving tree. This remaining sanctuary is fiercely protected by a mystical young woman named Gauri (played with exceptional grace and charm by Ahilya Bamroo), who serves as its devoted guardian and shares a profound spiritual connection with nature. The community's delicate balance permanently fractures when a troubled young man named Prathap (debutant Ayaan) arrives in the village after his father's death to reclaim his ancestral land. Desperate to capitalize on the valuable gold deposits buried right beneath the surface, he reluctantly joins forces with an ambitious businesswoman named Renu (Shalini Kondepudi).
