The Core Storyline 

Over Your Dead Body is a wildly chaotic, blood-drenched, and hilariously twisted dark action-comedy thriller streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Jorma Taccone (Popstar, MacGruber) and produced by the action maestros at 87North (Bullet Train, Violent Night), this film is a high-octane American remake of Tommy Wirkola’s hit 2021 Norwegian film The Trip.

The story follows Dan Burton (Jason Segel), a struggling director reduced to shooting cheap pop-up ads, and his wife Lisa (Samara Weaving), an aspiring but unfulfilled actress. After seven years of a deeply unhappy, resentful marriage, the couple decides to head out for a weekend getaway at a secluded, lakeside cabin under the guise of repairing their relationship. However, both have arrived with an identical, secret agenda: to brutally murder the other spouse for a massive life insurance payout and make it look like a tragic accident.
